Since 2015, Jason has been cultivating a vision of sharing Louisiana's rich cultural customs with the world. He bought a dilapidated property in the New Orleans Bywater and turned it into Murrel's Cajun Inn, a multifaceted property meant to support our local cultural melting pot with special events, cultural education, authentic food, Live music, and Dance. After years of rebuilding this property, Murrel's has now grown into its capability to host incredible experiences for guests and connect them directly into genuine Louisiana Culture.
We offer a wide range of accommodations and seasonal packages for your stay, so you can ensure an incredible trip, no matter what time of year you're in town. Two upstairs bedrooms can be rented out individually, or together, while you accompany your stay with curated experiences from local culture bearers and community leaders.
Jasons grandmother, loved to cook and bring people together over a homemade meal. He learned his Cajun culinary skills growing up from her, and personally cooks for his special events and cultural parties. He believes in sustainably sourced produce and cooks with the intent of serving food good for the body and soul.
Our events are what got us famous. Not only is the food served culturally delicious, but they also feature incredible displays of music AND dance. Here in Louisiana, we have a diverse social dancing community. These events feature the best partner dancers and musicians in Louisiana from scenes of Cajun, Zydeco, Swing, Blues, and more!
